CLIP & QUIP

Privacy Policy

Effective October 15, 2026

This policy describes the Clip & Quip informational website and Windows desktop app, operated under the name Clip & Quip. Contact Support@clipandquip.com with privacy questions, access requests, or deletion requests.

1. Website visitors and support

This website is a static informational site hosted by Cloudflare. We do not add advertising, analytics scripts, tracking cookies, account registration, or upload forms to these pages. Cloudflare processes technical request information, such as IP address, browser information, and request logs, to deliver and protect the site, under its Privacy Policy. This website does not provide the desktop editor or collect your desktop projects.

If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you send. We use that information to respond and handle your request. Do not send passwords, access tokens, or private API keys by email.

2. Data used by the desktop app

Projects, media, settings, and publishing records are stored in the app’s local data directory on your computer. Saved integration credentials use Windows user-bound encryption (DPAPI). This protects the saved credentials; it does not mean that all project files are encrypted. OAuth sign-in happens with the platform; the app does not ask for your social account password.

3. Why data is used and when it is shared

The app uses this information to edit and render media, identify your authorized account, check available posting permissions, perform your publishing instructions, renew authorization where supported, and report upload or processing results.

When you approve publishing, the selected video and post details are sent to the chosen platform. Account identifiers and authorization tokens are used in requests to that platform. Public posts and their metadata become visible according to the visibility you choose and the platform’s rules.

If you enable cloud AI or other external processing, the selected provider receives the input needed for that feature. Depending on the feature, this may include transcripts, prompts, audio, video frames, or a reviewed video. The app supports optional services including OpenAI, Google/Gemini, and Anthropic; other integrations depend on your configuration. Their processing and retention follow their own policies. Local processing and cloud processing are different; using the desktop app does not mean every operation stays on your device.

We do not sell app data or use it for targeted advertising. This website does not collect your desktop projects. Information you deliberately send to support is received by the operator and its email provider. We may use or disclose information we hold when required by applicable law.

4. Platform information and controls

Clip & Quip uses YouTube API Services. YouTube account information and publishing data are used to verify the channel and perform and check your uploads. See the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke the app’s Google access through Google Account third-party connections.

TikTok and Instagram features require your permission and platform approval. Their data practices are described in the TikTok Privacy Policy and Instagram Privacy Policy. You can remove app access in the relevant platform’s connected-app settings.

Disconnecting an account in Clip & Quip removes its saved account authorization and holds pending posts for that account. It does not delete existing projects, publishing records, or posts already uploaded. Revoking platform access is a separate control and prevents further use of the revoked authorization.

5. Retention and deletion

Local media and records remain on your computer until you remove them. Moving a project to the app’s trash is reversible; use its permanent-delete action to remove that project and its project assets. Separately saved exports, publication video copies, publishing history, backups, and files outside the project may remain. Cancel pending uploads and disconnect accounts before removing the app’s remaining local data. Contact support if you need help locating and deleting it.

Cloudflare, connected platforms, cloud processing services, and your backup tools manage their own copies under their policies. To remove a published video, use the destination platform. We cannot remotely delete files on your computer. Support messages are kept while needed to handle the request and related follow-up, or as required by law; contact us to request deletion of messages we hold.

6. Your choices and requests

You can choose whether to connect accounts, use external processing, or publish a clip. You can review visibility before posting, cancel an unstarted upload, disconnect accounts, revoke access with the platform, and remove local files. Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights to access, correct, obtain, or delete personal information we hold. Send requests to Support@clipandquip.com; we may need to verify that a request concerns your information.

7. Children, security, and updates

This product is intended for adults managing their own or authorized media accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. Contact us if you believe such information was sent to us.

Encryption and account checks reduce risk, but no storage or transmission is completely secure. Keep your computer, backups, and platform accounts protected. We will update this policy when the product or its data practices change, and identify the effective date above.
